A practice can have policies, registers and evidence folders in place and still have mandatory indicator areas without clear supporting evidence. These are the gaps that attract conditions, and the ones a structured review against the specific indicator wording is designed to surface early.
Practices often complete genuine improvement work, such as PDSA cycles, without documenting the Study and Act stages in a form assessors can assess. The Review identifies where existing work needs re-presenting rather than redoing, which is usually a fast fix.
For a new practice, the review establishes which documentation areas need building from scratch and which can be adapted, producing a clear build plan before resource is committed to documentation that would miss mandatory indicator requirements.

Yes, with one important difference. The Readiness Review is a structured gap analysis against the RACGP 5th Edition Standards, covering your documentation, evidence and physical environment. The gap analysis your accrediting agency asks you to complete is a self-assessment: you mark your own work. This one is independent, every finding is risk-rated, and it comes with a prioritised action plan rather than a list of questions.
Across Perth metro, yes. On-site delivery adds $350 to either tier, so an on-site Standard Review is $1,200. Ben conducts the walkthrough in person, room by room, including the vaccine fridge, emergency equipment, reception privacy and staff interview readiness. For practices elsewhere in Australia, the same walkthrough is delivered remotely: you receive a room-by-room photo checklist, share your registers and records via Google Drive, and we assess everything against the same criteria. Both produce the same written report.
AGPAL and QPA are the accrediting agencies. They survey you and report what they find. MedAssure works for you, independently, to identify likely issues before the agencies do. The Review assesses your practice against the RACGP 5th Edition Standards, which is what practices are currently surveyed under. When the 6th Edition takes effect, MedAssure can support the transition as a separate engagement.
Most practices use the action plan to self-remediate, or engage MedAssure for targeted assistance on specific gaps. If the Review identifies significant work, policy rewrites, register build-outs, evidence organisation, MedAssure can scope and deliver that as a separate fixed-fee engagement.
