RACGP Accreditation Support Australia-Wide

RACGP Accreditation Consultant for Australian General Practices

Accreditation preparation takes time most practice teams do not have. MedAssure provides consultant-led RACGP accreditation support: we build and organise your policies, registers, evidence systems and survey documentation, then guide your team through the final sign-off, training and implementation steps only your practice can complete. You work with an experienced RACGP accreditation consultant, with a clear plan and defined responsibilities from day one.

Supporting Practices Preparing for Assessment Through

RACGP AGPAL QPA

MedAssure supports practices preparing for RACGP 5th Edition assessment through accreditation providers such as AGPAL and QPA. We are independent and not affiliated with RACGP, AGPAL or QPA.

The Problem

Accreditation Shouldn't Fall on Your Team

Most practices understand accreditation is important. But when it comes to the actual preparation, it consistently falls to already-stretched practice managers and principals to coordinate documentation, chase evidence, interpret standards, and prepare staff, all while running a busy clinic.

The result is rushed preparation, fragmented systems, and real risk of non-compliance findings on assessment day.

MedAssure reduces that workload. We build and organise your policies, evidence systems, registers and protocols, then give your team a short, precise checklist for the parts only your practice can complete, such as approving documents, staff sign-off, training and final setup.

What Practices Struggle With

No time to coordinate accreditation alongside daily operations
Uncertainty about what RACGP indicators actually require
Generic policy templates that don't reflect real workflows
Evidence folders that are incomplete or poorly organised
Staff unprepared for assessor questions on survey day
Non-compliance findings and the stress of remediation

How It Works

Client Feedback

Trusted RACGP Accreditation Support for Busy General Practices

"Passing our RACGP accreditation assessment used to mean weeks of stress, lost clinical hours, and frantically pulling together evidence. Bringing in Ben and MedAssure completely transformed that process.

Ben didn't just dump templates on us: he audited our workflows against the 5th Edition Standards, closed our compliance gaps, and built a system that keeps us audit-ready every single day.

Thanks to Ben, our surveyors were genuinely impressed, our clinical team stayed focused on patients, and we passed seamlessly. If you want total confidence on assessment day, Ben is who you call."

Understanding Accreditation

Understanding Accreditation In General Practices

Accreditation shows that a medical practice is meeting the minimum safety, quality and risk-management standards required in Australia. It applies to all general practices and demonstrates a commitment to high-quality care and continuous improvement.

Practices seeking accreditation against the RACGP Standards for General Practices (5th Edition) must engage an approved accrediting agency. The two most commonly used agencies are:

AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited)
QPA (Quality Practice Accreditation)

Accreditation provides a range of benefits, including:

Improved risk management and stronger patient safety systems
Patient confidence that a high standard of care is consistently provided
A culture of quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the practice
Better staff development and engagement
Eligibility for Medicare financial incentives, including the Practice Incentives Program (PIP) and Workforce Incentive Program (WIP)
Eligibility to register for MyMedicare and its linked incentive programs, which require practices to be accredited

Our services work alongside your practice to prepare your documentation, organise your evidence and get you well prepared for assessment day.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about RACGP accreditation and how MedAssure can help.

Yes. We support general practices Australia-wide through full remote accreditation assistance, with onsite visits available when needed.

MedAssure can handle most of the preparation workload, including policies, procedures, registers, evidence folders, improvement activities, business planning, emergency planning and survey-day preparation. Your practice still needs to approve the documents, provide practice-specific information, complete staff sign-offs, carry out required training, and operate the systems day to day. We make that lighter and clearer by giving your team a precise checklist and guiding you through each step.

Yes. MedAssure prepares medical centres for all accreditation bodies under the RACGP Standards.

We can assist with any part, for example, policies, documentation, evidence, registers, business plans or PDSA cycles.

Most practices start 3–12 months ahead, but we can help even if your date is approaching.

Yes. The RACGP has closed consultation on the 6th Edition Standards, which are expected to be released with a transition period during which practices can be assessed under either edition. Most practices are still surveyed under the 5th Edition for now. MedAssure monitors the 6th Edition transition and can support your practice when the new Standards take effect.
